Volunteer Information

With the help of many volunteers, FPNA works for you in a variety of ways:

❖ Partners with the city of West Palm Beach wherever possible to trim trees and work on other projects of mutual interest

❖ Hosts our annual Holiday Historic Home Tour (starting in 1991!) which is our largest fundraiser

❖ Decorates our FPNA-owned street poles for the holidays

❖ Hosts spring Garden Tours

❖ Hosts an Easter egg hunt and/or a Halloween part

❖ Hosts a yearly Block Party with free food and entertainment for members

❖ Produces our bimonthly Flamingo Flyer to inform residents and bring in advertising dollars

❖ Provides funds to Social Hour hosts for those events (the last Friday of the month January through September)

❖ Through our Environmental Committee, plants trees to keep our canopy beautiful

❖ Gives House of the Month and Volunteer of the Month awards with an accompanying gift card

❖ Has monthly Board meetings and quarterly membership meetings, with speakers and presentations and candidate forums at election time

❖ Coordinates neighborhood-wide yard sale, benefitting each family with no donation necessary to FPNA

❖ Coordinates neighborhood cleanups, as necessary

❖ Represents FPNA at quarterly Mayor’s meetings and other citywide issue meetings

that affect the quality of life for us all

❖ Works with the city’s code officer to bring problems into compliance and oversee zoning issues

❖ Maintains the FPNA Facebook page, the flamingopark.org website

❖ Uses email to communicate with residents about ongoing issues and upcoming events

❖ Maintains the financial stability for our association and monitors carefully to see that our income and sales taxes are paid and that our corporation status and IRS 501(c)(3) status are in order

The Board looks forward to any and all feedback from our residents as to ways that FPNA can better serve the whole community — individually and with the best quality of life for the whole neighborhood.
